Re: I tried a mirrorless. Have you?

In the corporation where I work us engineers frequently complain our manuals do not tell the customers useful information we know would benefit them.  One problem is the people who write the manuals don’t understand the product. Second is the final behavior that gets shipped isn’t finalized until well after the manual has gone through translations and proofing. Third is the fear if we overspecify in the draft manuals we get locked into doing something poorly when we figure out later a better way. Or when we are scrambling to match a better idea some other company had. It all puts in pressure to put as little as possible in the manual.

One time I got burned on this was when Sony upgraded the AF modes on the A77ii and provided no explanation that things worked differently. I got my A77ii a week before a vacation and pretty much got few good shots with it while I had nothing but success with my Sony A65 for many previous vacations.
