I have tried so many mirrorless cameras I think I have had one at some point from every manufacture. I currently have a Leica which I love and a Canon RP. I started out with Pentax (MX) and am thinking of coming back with a K1 because I prefer SLR to Rangefinder but love the Leica so much. I have been trying to work out why and I think it is all down to loving an OVF even though I love small full frame cameras (and the K1 isn’t small compared to mirrorless offerings). Something I have not seen mentioned yet and that puts me off the RP has nothing to do with lag or resolution but the focussing points. I don’t know if it is only me but I find multiple focus boxes darting round the screen and changing size etc really distracting and take me away from the composition and what is actually going on in front of the camera. I can pick a single centre point but the focus box is then huge compared to a DSLR centre point focus. Anyway that is a big reason I think I may have never found a mirrorless that I like and thinking of coming back home to the DSLR.

Interesting feedback, just curious, isn't there some option to deactivate subject detection, or use a grid as with DSLRs, out of centered box ? (can you move it by the way ?).

I thought there would be all options from DSLRs, and subject detection/boxes added on top of it but it seems not ?

You seem to get all the same focus options but if you select centre focus point (if you were going to focus and re-compose) the box is a lot larger. It gives the perception of being less accurate because you can fit so much into the box. I must admit I do love eye detect and it would be great if you could have a centre focus point as small as it goes when eye detect is active. It may be just an RP thing where it is annoying. I’ve had other mirrorless and there focussing can be bad in other ways (I bought the original A7 back in the day and the focussing was awful in low light).
