What an absurd statement! Are you actually implying that wide angle shots never have any elements with detail near the edges?

In my experience the corners are usually outside of depth of field anyway so they wouldn't have been in focus regardless of the price or quality of the lens.

But I can totally see the scenario where the corners matters, just that the scenario involves being several meters off the ground.
