Some well known research had shown that 25 FPS is more than enough. Humans cannot see more. But, gamers craved 60 FPS or some even 120 FPS, even though humans could not see it. Same with ping. Gamers craved much lower ping than humans can react to. Eventually, better research showed the gamers right. Everything changes dramatically if you are turning around quick an do try to hit something while the image is moving fast. Then it is not any longer a matter of reaction time, but synchronization time, where humans are much more accurate. Like all drummers knows. Drummers can hit the drums with a totally mind boggling accuracy.

Same goes for EVF. If you turn the camera around you are out of phase due to the very small delay. OK, that is not as important like when trying to hit someone with a rail gun. But, it is still annoying.

Well, I didn't have problems with 18 fps (Super 8 movies), no problems with 50 half frames/s (PAL TV) and later, when moved to Canada, it has been 60 hf/s. But, whenever I came back to Europe for visit, suddenly I saw that something is wrong with their TV . So yes, everything is coded in our brain. Once you are accustomed to, let's say 120 fps, then when you see only 60 fps, your brain will detect it immediately.
