NOTE - I am really, really, really annoyed at the camera makers not telling how their EVF works. What is so secret about it?

The user manual can typically be found online nowadays. There the different functions are explained. Although the manual of most camera-companies are at least as bad as those from Pentax...

? This feels like product bashing to me. I find their manuals to be pretty good on the whole and the camera menu system itself is excellent.

Pentax manuals are usually quite vague and do not describe functions in detail.

Brands like Canon and Nikon have often more content in their manuals. While Pentax manuals are usually 150 pages, Canon and Nikon may have manuals of 500-600 pages, sometimes more.

Not a major problem with many of us that used Pentax cameras for long time. But it is a little strange that such an advanced camera like K3 III with so many new features and advanced functions have fewer pages in the manual than K70.

Enabling/disabling the exposure preview is commonplace. Enabling = preview of how the shot would look like, disabling would mean showing a visible picture, which can be very handy when working with studio flashes in an otherwise pretty dark studio. In both cases, the EVF-brightness can be adjusted to user's preferences.

Most cameras also have the option to show over/underexposure in the EVF, live histogram, etc.
