I think you made a good choice.

The Sigma champions here and elsewhere are all rooting for the FFF.  If it follows the steps and DNA of past Foveons and FP, I'm sure there be plenty of quarks or unique Sigma features.  Price wise, based on the typical flagship cameras of the top three mainstream brands (Sony, Canon, Nikon), it'll most likely be priced north of $5K, assuming it's availability in the next few years.

With that said, it's a good guess that this FFF will house a L mount.  To each their own, but an FP may be a better purchase now to hold you over until the FFF release, if you decide to wait it out.  At least the L mount lenses you've invested in will carry over, and if the FFF doesn't float your boat or you're priced out, you got options with Panasonic and Leica.
