Pros and Cons:

  • Cons
    • The worst DR of any of my Canon mirrorless cams
    • Lazy AF (but still usable for action)
    • No plug for wired remote
    • Slow startup time
  • Pros
    • Amazing colors, RP is close but not perfectly matching
      • My theory is that by switching to colder/neutral palette for lack of better words Canon was able to squeeze out more DR from the sensor
    • Uses the same battery as M6 and RP and thus being an usable legacy camera.
    • Superior construction compared to M6

Another Pros to mention

- Only M with CHDK in real development and quite usable at moment (not count M1 and M2 with magic latern)

Nice, I have to try that.

I tried some intervalometer scripts, they worked, great for timelapse!

The cons of image quality can now be nicely improved by shooting RAW using DxO Photolab for processing. JPG shooting alone is always a disappointment to me personally

There is another terrible cons is video quality, heavy compressed Full HD.

The startup time is not that slow, it's okay.

And loudsy shutter.

The M3 overall is nice photographic tool.
