The OP was asking about mounting on a cheap tripod.

  • If he means a camera tripod, with a 1/4" male screw at the top which goes into the camera bottom, then the Emart Light Bulb Stand would not work without some other parts.
  • If he means a cheap light stand, then yes, the Emart Light Bulb Stand would work.

The OP should use a cheap light stand; this is the standard for lighting equipment.

However, if for some reason he can only use a camera tripod, he would need to purchase a spigot with a 1/4" female thread. This will thread onto the tripod's 1/4" male screw and provides the mount that is found at the top of light stands.
