Re: Update

IMHO, Canon was wise to do the DIGIC8 and Sony RX100 IV sensor in the G7x III and produce a true RX100 competitor aka G5x II which both tick the 4K box and have improved AF, and improved firmware/software as it meets most needs in a pocket, now, at a price point that can sell. Granted with compromises mentioned…

the biggies about the G5X-II IMO are the new lens and that it offers a G7X type cam with an EVF which is what it is, a G7X-III with an EVF and an updated lens. these along with the superb touchscreen, the rest of the ergonomics and the proper battery charger (even if canon are too stingey to supply a £2 USB lead in the box) are what makes the camera the best compromise in a pocket 1"`er over the Sonys and pans

the G7X Mk3 is 99.9% the same as the Mk2 from what I gather from the review ..

Shame they didn`t put the proper Digic-8 high detail JPG engine in from the M50 / M6-II and get the AF to work better in Video .
