Have you bought any other lenses than the RF100-400mm?
If not just a FYI Canon USA Refurbished Lenses have the refurbished RF 24-150mm f/4-7.1 IS STM for $249.00 HERE.
The 100% Pixie Pixel Peepers love to criticize this lens, but for the $249.00 it makes for a good small/ lightweight general purpose lens; e.g., reviews:
CameraLabs, PhotographyBlog; the-digital-picture.com, etc.
I got the 24-105 kit lens with the camera but have not even unwrapped it yet. I read a thread on the one you linked and that sounds pretty nice, I've bookmarked it. ...
When out shooting pics the RP, 24-105mm STM and the 100-400mm USM would make for a relativity light 24-400mm focal range setuo.
I am still thrilled with how light this is I could see having both lenses in a backpack with no issue.
... I think I need more practice for FV.
?
Just a FYI, with smaller subjects (birds, etc.) may need to use Spot AF.
Funny you should say that, I was sitting with a chickadee for a bit and that's what I did. I know this camera is not as good with catching birds as they hop around (compared to the R5/R6) but I can see the focus changing as the bird hops around in the brush and this is something the SX50 couldn't do.

Overall nice captures.
with the 2nd squirrel pic IMO would had been better if used a longer focal length.
I think I was panning with him so I zoomed out to make it easier on me.
So that chickadee..... Here's the pic of him that I am pretty happy with.
Then I remembered I grabbed the SX50 after a few minutes and took 2 shots. One came out, though I did not get a face shot.

(this should be a little more than 400, I was sitting in the same place)
