After I got this lens, I found I use my 7D mark ii more than I expected, even though I have multiple cameras, including Canon, Sony, full frame and crop. It is as sharp as my best L lenses when used on crop camera. When I don't have bokeh objective, this lens is the choice. It has the same contrast of the best Canon lenses. You can see the eyelash clearly, better than my Tamron 28-200 and 70-180 on Sony cameras. Full frame can be better, but with this sharpness and contrast, the crop cameras can be very close.

The 18-135 IS STM is a very good lens... I got one with a used 70D off ebay a few years ago. Continued using it with an adapter as I upgraded to the M6 then to my current M6 Mark ii with very good results.

It does well with the 32 MP sensor of the M6ii (same sensor as the 90D) but as you move to higher res sensors the difference between the 18-135 and L lenses and sharp primes gets more obvious.

My copy was slightly decentered with slightly unsharp upper left corner at the wide end at apertures wider than f5 or so.

I upgraded to the EF-M 18-150 IS STM which had a very slight edge in sharpness and micro contrast over the 18-135. The 18-150 is similarly decentered, but in the lower right corner so I always shoot it at f5 or darker.

The 18-135 did zoom much more smoothly which gave better results for 4k video over the slightly jerky zoom of the 18-150.
