Per the image's EXIF data you were using the RF 100-400mm at only 281mm.

Need to zoom in so the bird(s) image covers a larger area of the sensor, i.e., bird(s) is/ are comprised of more of the sensor's pixels.

Of your RP's 6240x4160 sensor's pixels, the one bird fits within only a very small 800x558 area of the sensor.

Below a simple example of a possible framing for pic with all birds:

Image was cropped, and downsized to 2000 pixels width/ sharpened.

Due to the RF 100-400mm f/5.6-8 max apertures, using faster shutter speeds will require higher ISO's. Which with OOC JPG's will generally result degradation of the smaller (feather) details resolution due to higher ISO image noise.

3200 ISO with the RP's FF sensor should not be too much of an issue, as with your SX50 .

With small subjects (i.e., birds) just have the subject fill the frame as much as possible.

Another big help to improve IQ is to shoot RAW and use a RAW app that has good lens profiles and noise reduction.

Cheers,
Jon
