I sometimes feel the price of all these one-inch sensor cameras, no matter what the brand, are ridiculous.
Agreed - prices are set by the first out of the door with a popular product and because Sony got away with silly prices with the early RXs so canon and panasonic made theirs on a similar level ..
Yes, I agree with this 100%, and I've posted similar statements in the past. It may sound funny to most people, but I honestly believe Sony has "set the standard" for pricing, and because people pay their prices, other companies follow suit.
IMO the RX10 Mk3 and 4 are worth the money (despite even the Mk4 being years out of date body / battery wise ) this is for the lens alone as even at worst its like a bag of pro levels zooms optical quality wise and at prime level in some areas of the zoom but the RX100 series and canon Gx series lenses aren`t in the same universe as the RX10-IVs optic so how they can charge well over a grand for a RX100 Mk7 is totally beyond me
Once again, I agree.
I suppose I should be arguing because I use Sony cameras, but I believe a person who pays the asking price for a RX100VII, has way overpaid for what they're getting.
When you come right down to it, anything Sony is expensive. Their televisions, laptops, and everything else are among the most expensive products available.
I have owned a few Sony TVs and they are pretty nice... Well worth the asking price in my opinion and compared to for instance Bose or Apple, the Sony products are actually not that expensive.
