Any suggestions for lens testing the G5x? I usually don’t on point and shots; they usually have a hiccup somewhere and ignorance is bliss…

Yeah - forget test charts and brick walls unless you`re into such things as all that tests is the lens at close range and they behave differently at regular distances - just shoot a row of houses or shops from across the street at F1.8, F2.8 and F4 (just the latter at the long end of course) and make sure there isn`t a consistently blurry EDGE Chris and other reviewers obsess over corners but never check the edges and only do so on that stupid test chart which only tests closeups - corner obsession is a reviewer disease - check the edges , sometimes they can be really out of whack - no need for a tripod , if you think you have one, turn the camera upside down and shoot again and if the soft edge shifts to the other side , its faulty  ..

The one I borrowed was a very new one , the owner sent it back as it was under warranty .. it was very noticable at F4 even and got worse the more distant the scene such as a large gardenscape as these things do ..
