Odd thing I noticed in the Canon Adapter EF-EOS M instructions
2

I recently purchased another Canon Adapter EF-EOS M (via Amazon). I needed a second adapter for reasons not worth getting into. For those not familiar with the gadget, it allows me to use EF and EF-S lenses on my M6 Mark II.

I decided to actually read the instruction sheet that came with it. Yeah, I'm weird that way.  I noticed one odd statement that I thought I should run past the more learned photographers amongst us. It reads as follows, in the "Precautions when using this adapter" section:

"Since a lens' minimum focusing distance is lengthened when this adapter is attached, maximum magnification and field of view may change."

I'm guessing this means that the minimum focusing distance and field of view may change relative to the specs for the lens when used with a camera with an EF mount.

Really? I was under the impression that the adapter (one of which I've used for several years now) didn't change any optical characteristics of the lens/camera combination. I've certainly never noticed any effect.

Thoughts?

Larry
