Hope you get one with a good copy of the lens. The one I borrowed was decentered but my own is perfect as was my (now sold) G7X ..

That's why I bought new. I noted B&H has a used one, that keeps going in and out of stock... There's probably a reason for that. I don't expect a perfect copy, just an okay one and I'll be fine. I'd prefer a good copy obviously.

Yeah, RAW is deffo the way to go with these Canon compacts, expose hot and you’ll get clean skies and great shadow recovery too as there is loads of highlight recovery..

I haven't tried that yet, but will this lifetime, assuming I get a good copy.

The OEM batteries are that comically expensive in the UK compared to DSLR and MILC ones I actually laughed out loud - sadly 3rd party ones aren’t common despite it fitting most of the range.. I’ll just recharge the one I have .. also this is the first camera I’ve had which doesn’t come with a USB cable which is bizarre as how does the general public download their pics ? We all have card readers but those things are way beyond the phone-centric consumers of today .. Nice one Canon - skimping as usual - at least we get a real charger though still ..

Third party batteries have third party problems. I just pony up for the expensive OEM batteries. You get what you pay for... Trust me, I've tested third party batteries, there's no such thing as a free lunch.

Now IKEA LADDA batteries = Panasonic Eneloops. That's true. But that's a corner case and doesn't help us here.
