Do you all use the 70-200 with the tripod mount? I took mine of real quick since I don't shoot that often on tripod and don't think I need to hold it for stability as with my previous 70-200s.

I still like using it as a handle.

There ya go. Indeed with my RF100-500 and the RF70-200 I do tend to walk around using the mount as a handle. pretty nice balance and convenient

The problem with Canon’s tripod collars/feet is they require a external Arca-Swiss plate and aren’t designed to take a replaceable foot that is often a better handle design.

I completely agree. It is very sad indeed that Canon hasn't gotten onboard with the concept as Sigma has, with integrating the Arca Swiss slats at the bottom of their tripod mounts. Surely they COULD but can't understand why they haven't adopted that design. Fortunately on some models. Kirk and RRS make replaceable feet or tripod collar mounts that DO have the Arca Swiss cuts in the design. I have to admit, I haven't dragged out my Gitzo tripod now in years. The Image Stabilization has been so good on the body/lens combo's I've been using it simply wasn't needed. I don't do astro stuff so I'm good to go without it.

Name the gear and I've probably owned it and used it.
