I have an 850D and a Canon 70-300 IS zoom. Not as good as your lens, but probably about as heavy. I've used that lens on an 850D and a 350D for more than a decade with zero damage. I don't think there would be any problems unless you're banging the kit around pretty badly. However, I did buy a stretchy / wide / padded Op/Tech strap that made the whole thing feel much lighter. Similar to this: https://www.optechusa.com/pro-strap.html I actually bought a second Op/Tech strap for the shoulder-style camera case I had at the time!

If you want to mount a strap directly to the lens, I can't recall seeing anything that would do that. Maybe a lens collar with some kind of strap loop or something screwed on...? But if it was me, I'd not worry about it.
