Had the EF Mk2 version and now the RF. I prefered it from day one on! Its snappier in AF, much improved IS, SOOOOOO much lighter and even more important compact to store in the back. One thing I changed from day one is the sunshade. I use the shade from the rf50/1.2 which fits perfectly (also reversed), does its job equaly well as the gigantic original and requires much less space. I actually bought a spare one since I do the same exchange on my RF100-500. Buy it!

Great! I already have it, but it's a pretty recent acquisition.

How do you compare it with the RF 50 1.2 (also a lens I have and love).

I also own both, it is hard to compare them because they are so different, but IQ wise the 70-200 for me is just as good and I do not hesitate to use it most of the time. I never look at the 70-200 images and wish that they looked any better, or that they looked more like the 50, the only time I do not like the picture is purely my fault.

You know what I just got though and highly highly recommend? The RF 100 2.8 macro, I am still in the honeymoon phase but this lens is doing it all for me right now for me. Portraits look AMAZING with it. Such a sharp lens.
