Re: Used at a high school production of Mary Poppins

Really nice. Question. Does exposure compensation and minimum shutter speed work in silent mode?
If they did, it seems you could almost back into a quasi manual mode with auto iso.
Silent Mode on the RP has no adjustability. The camera picks all the settings. The only things the user can select are focus point method and whether you want single shot or single shot with a timer. That's it. I used single shot with the focus point in the middle of the frame. Interestingly, you can't manually select a focus point in the "scene" modes. If you choose a focus point manually in, say, AV mode, this is the focus point that will be used in the "scene" mode. Therefore, I just left the focus point in the center, then used the focus and recompose method for the shot. With the focus point on a subject under the house lights, I was getting 1/200 second, f2.8 or f3.2 most of the time. Anything under less light, I would get a blurry camera "shake warning" symbol in the viewfinder.
To standardize post processing, I processed one of the photos taken under the house lights, post processed it to look the way I wanted it to, then saved that as a "preset" in LR. Other pictures I would load, then apply the preset, then tweak as needed. Here are a few more examples. Most of these were cropped A LOT, because I was 30-50 feet (or more) from the subject. They turned out quite well, though, for my purpose, which is web use for the High School's web site.
