IBIS Failure Rate

Hi All!

I'm looking at buying a new-to-mw A7iii, and it occurred to me to wonder about the expected life of the IBIS mechanism. Foe example: Is it always on? If someone walks around with the camera powered up, does it respond to every movement of the user's gait?? If that is the case, then the shutter count isn't necessarily an indicator or use-related wear and tear. On the other hand, it could be that the IBIS mechanism just never fails.

Any comments on buying a used A7iii appreciated!

Just wondering as another Arctic Vortex moves in ...
