Flash problem.

Was it a new(er) flash or a flash from a film era? Old flashes can produce very high voltage (as they were mechanically triggered so noone cared) that can damage newer cameras. If it's a newer flash (digital) then it's most likely that you're camera was not damaged and Samsung doesn't have any such "protection" that I know of (I have used literally dozens of different flashes and they work in full manual if they can be triggered by just a central pin).

Also check that the flash is seated properly, clean the contacts, check camera settings (is it even detecting the flash, there should be an icon on the screen), are your settings ok, etc.
