Greetings Sigma users
Long story short, I was doing a magazine shoot at high altitude 6000-7000 ft this last week. I decided to use the SDQ and the FP, the FP worked fine no issues, but the SDQ would go into the sleep mode between shoots, and when I pushed the shutter release button to wake the Q up it went to SD logo black screen on the LCD and that's it. I kept having to turn the SDQ on and off to get it to work.
Ok, now the weather, it was cold, snowy and windy, temperature was 38 degrees F with a 15 mph wind or more, so about 10 degrees F. The camera and lens had snow on them, but here's the kicker, my son's Nikon D610 with a Sigma 18-50 lens never missed a lick, zero issues. I've used my SDQ-H, SD1M, and SD15 in this type climate without issues. I now use the SDQ-H and FP for the different color modes.
Oh Well
Take care have fun

No idea what the manual says about working in the cold.
Neither do I. I need to look and see.
But here in Sweden I have an extensive experience with cameras and the cold. Somehow my Sigma DP3M seems most vurnerable: it eats batteries like crazy when it is around 3F / -16 celcius - happhy if I can take 10 shots.
That's to bad. But no surprise.
My other cameras don't have these issues.
Yes. my son's D610 had no issue, but it could have been his batteries.
Then again, I have batteries from fleabay
I understand. I usually keep my batteries warm in my pocket, but didn't this time. The batteries may very well be the issue.
Be safe but have fun
Roger J.
Keep us updated!
I have a GAS-habit and a plethora of cameras of different brands - but somehow my beloved Merrils seem to be most power-hungry (or maybe their batteries have the least capacity).
