Shocked! 18-150 goes haywire on my shiny new M6 II
1

Was holding the camera steady, and had been for a while so the IS was engaged (takes a second to kick in).

Also, I noted the camera/lens pulled a little to the bottom right afterwards when after pressing the shutter vs what was actually captured... Sorta like firing a firearm where they "pull" a bit.

I've had an M6 II before with the 18-150 kit, never seen this one before. Never seen this on an M or R before for that matter, or DSLR... My bet? IS-unit error. What's interesting is how much shutter shock is impacting that IS unit. The amount of shake for 1/250, from a shutter? Wow.

I did some additional testing to confirm the the camera/lens was "pulling" to the down and right after that burst, and then reset the power. Appeared to clear the phenomena. Really bizarre.

Thoughts from the peanut gallery? Normal every now and again? Anyone seen it before? I haven't, once on my 18-150s (and this will be my 4th copy). But just because I haven't, doesn't mean someone else here hasn't, hence my mentioning. Not trying to tarnish the beloved M6 II or 18-150, but, I am wondering if I have a faulty IS unit on my lens as that's the logical culprit, or, I'm doing something wrong. Example, I haven't setup Fv mode for dedicated BBF. Even though I was shooting BBF, my shutter is still engaged for both AF and AE, I haven't set it to AE only yet. Now that shouldn't matter, but I'm noting it as in my former lifetime with the M6 II, it was BBF only 90% of the time with BBF assigned to the dedicated back button and shutter for AE/release only. Again, shouldn't matter but noting it.

SOOC JPEGs btw, small size. Used for rapid culling of the associated C-RAWs which I process after culling. All lens-corrections in-camera enabled, not that it should matter... Auto picture style.

Camera v1.1.1

Lens v2.0.1

AI-Servo, High Speed Continuous Drive (14FPS)

You can't see it, but, it's pulling to down and right
