X100v evf not displaying preview correctly

id like to preempt that I understand how an histogram work but in previous threads many people seem to think you can’t trust an evf etc. I just don’t buy this. On my xt 30 the image you see once you half press in the evf and lcd is basically exactly what you get on a computer screen.
I think that’s a clear feature of mirror less cameras.
so I guess either I have a faulty camera or more likely there’s some settings I just can’t figure out.

Make sure Natural Live View is off and Preview EXP/WB is on (for Manual EXP too, if you are shooting with manual settings).
