Osprey BIF using X-T3, 70-300 + 1.4x

My wife and I made a quick trip to Florida to see family and friends we have not seen in 3 years due the pandemic. As photography was not a priority for this trip, I packed light and used my 70-300 + 1.4x TC rather than Sigma 150-600 c with tripod. Going from a 4 Lb. lens to a 1 Lb. lens provided the freedom to hand hold all my photos. For portraits the combination preformed quite well though there was a touch of CA when shooting into the sun. For flight it seemed adequate yet slow while I was shooting yet when I started to sort and process my images I noticed many were less sharp than desirable. Studding the images, I feel the cause was pore tracking, something I've seen before with the 100-400 + 1.4x. I also noticed a number of images that showed stabilization issues, which I've noticed before with the 70-300 and my advice is to keep the shutter speed up as I have not been able to rely on the stabilization of the 70-300. This set came out reasonably yet I did have to sharpen more than usual.
This is the same osprey I showed bringing lumber to his nest. The trail I was on went directly under his nest and I wondered if the park management made a bad choice or the osprey built the nest after the trail was there. Either way, I did not like disturbing the osprey and walked quickly past the nest yet he still gave me the eye circling three times before I was clear of it. Then he flew past in front of me, possibly to make certain I was leaving.
