I am a MFT shooter plus have the Fuji x100f.

Is it me or are Fuji lagging behind in the action/sports area?

These are what I am considering upgrading to from my EM1 mark ii with regards to AFC tracking.

Sony A9 (used) with 200 to 600 Sony G lens

OM-1 with 40 to 150 2.8 pro lens (with 1.4 TC.

I would really like to consider the APSC of Fuji but for fast action are they really up there? As for the long lenses. If I'm honest, I'm not blown away.

Is the Fuji 100-400 really the best they have to offer? Any rumours of an upgraded lens in this ball park?

Thanks in advance.

If you look at the stats most of the pro sporting shooters use a 70-200 2.8, 300 2.8, and the 400mm 2.8. I don't see many shooting 200-600 lenses. They want a fast lens!

Fuji has the 40-150 2.8, but its best action/sports lens is the Fuji 200mm F2. Combined with the 1.4 ex in full-frame it equates to 420mm.

I've owned the 100-400 but it's not even close to the 200mm in terms of quality, auto-focus, sharpness. The bokeh it creates is outstanding. It's Fuji's best lens, and the cost reflects that.

I'm waiting for Fuji's new 200-600 that's scheduled for 2022, but I'll use it for wildlife not sporting events.
