Newbie... so not sure if this is the right forum, if not, let me know and I'll move it to the correct one.
My question is simple: I have a collection of Canon lenses, from my film days and was wondering if there's an adapter that I can get so that I can use these lenses on my SL1?
Thanks
No well not in any meaningful full way the adoptor has to have an optic which is not very good
i have quite a fetish for MF glass and use a 50mm f1.4 FDn and others regularly
now trying to focus MF glass through the poky SL1/100D viewfinder is a challenge
its best to use the live view as with canon a dab and swipe or 2 will have you zoomed in 5 or 10X anywhere on the back screen forgoodt focusing .. which is not much good to you if you can't fit the lenses
But all canons with a touch interface are like this which means the canon M mk1 MILC (or any other M body} which will fit any MF lens as adaptors are made for about every mount and is very cheap ..the big problem with the M was VERY slow AF but that don't matter to you
i dont know what your budget is or how many FD lenses you have but a better option that gives you an EVF and focus peaking to help with focus when using an VF is the old Sony full-frame A7..again one of the main problems with the A7 was poor AF
so its just an option for you to think about
be warned the MF lens bug can be pretty contagious and you may end up with more MF lenses than AF lenses

the EOS M is not dead and wont be for a long time ....as long as you don't want a flagship camera with a VF...if that's the case it died sometime ago

There is no argument for FF vs APS-c (or m43) with shallow DOF..as it's a law of physics and a very subjective personal thing if you want to make use of the shallow DOF only FF can offer
