Canon EF 85L ii Pops

The pop means the melted background, and the bright background melted brighter.

Compared with my Sony and Samyang AF 85/1.4, they melted similarly for the dim background, maybe Canon is a little better but not by much. The difference lies in the bright background. Canon magnifies this brightness, and melted much better than Samyang. That melted brightness is the magic.

So I keep my 85L and always try to find some bright background and apply that magic.

I'll keep my Canon DSLR because of this lens, and other excellent L lenses. 6D ii + 85L ii, I spent $2200 CAD. R6 + RF 85L will be 6-7K. I don't see much difference. I tried transition to Sony, because Sony is better with third party lenses. No third party 85mm can replace the 85L. I also keep the Samyang for those cases when the subject is moving and I more care for the subject's eyes in focus.
