Canon M50 - How to enable viewfinder for shooting?
Re: Canon M50 - How to enable viewfinder for shooting?
I'm assuming that when you wrote OVF that you meant viewfinder (EVF). What I am providing for you, is what I find on my Canon M50 Mark II. In the Menu go to the wrench #3. You will see Display Settings at the top. You can choose auto or manual for only showing things in the viewfinder or the LCD screen, When choosing auto there's a sensor that does not allow us to use the viewfinder and the LCD screen at the same time (when we are too close)...except for my workaround that I describe below.
The workaround I have discovered is to pull the LCD screen away from the body, so that when a person wants to chimp their images real close to the LCD screen, it won't shut off. When I'm using my Canon DSLR cameras I can always use the viewfinder and the LCD screen at the same time without the hassle of a sensor shutting the LCD screen off. Maybe it was designed that way for the Canon M50 Mark II to conserve battery power. I don't mind using extra battery power because I bring with me extra batteries.
So, there you have it. You should now be able to enable the viewfinder for taking pictures. I like using the viewfinder for when I'm taking video too. It helps on bright sunny days.
