Re: Mystifying NX1 problem

This friends, is a first for me and NX1. During an outdoor shoot, temp abt 30 degrees F, viewfinder/screen went too dark to frame photo. Shutter continued to work; virtually dark shots came back in post with a four-stop boost, imagine.

In the shoot: turned the camera off and on; popped the battery, which was at 87%: no effect. Shook it, yelled; still nothing.

The sequence: a half-press would produce normal view-finder sighting, auto focus a little slow; but as soon as focusing box went green and I tried to plunge the shutter button: all went dark. Yikes.

All I can think of as a cause: I believe I'd foolishly left the camera's power on during lens change, with sensor pointed upwards at (heavily over-cast) sky. Could that be it? Later, inside, normal function seems to have returned. Naturally though my confidence is undermined.

Ideas?

I'm assuming I'm misunderstanding something...sorry if this is a condescending guess, but if your shots are also dark on your computer in post, it sounds like you are in a manual mode showing live exposure and are simply underexposing? it's normal for half press to show you the scene to help with composing, but once focus is acquired to show you the effect of your exposure settings.
