Using old film lenses for digital DSLR cameras might not be always best. The digital EF and EF-S lenses are so relatively inexpensive; that's all you might need to get the best quality. My favorite EF-S lens that I bought on Ebay was my previously owned 18-135mm USM lens. I got it for a price of about $150 including shipping. I've never seen one priced that low. It is still being used and is high quality (for the price). I was fortunate that it was in such good condition.

Are your film lenses FD mount instead of EF mount? If we can't help and you still want to use your old lenses, consider asking this question on the Canon SLR Lens Talk forum. From what I read a few minutes ago the previous poster is right that EF lenses should work on your Canon SL1 (100D) camera without an adapter. That's why I'm questioning the mount.
