Landscape lens

I am heading to Scotland / Cairngorms for a photography trip in August. The Tamron 18-300 mm seemed like a lens that could help limit lens swaps out in the field and resistant to rain as well. I have never been to Scotland, but I suppose I had better be prepared for bad weather and that starts with the lens.

I was about to pull the trigger on the Tamron 18-300, but then I saw not everyone seems too happy about the lens with regards to IQ. Is that correct?

The alternatives that I could think of:

* XF 55-200 mm (but not weather resistant), alongside a 18-55 mm lens that I already have

* XF 18-135 mm (less zoom, but weather resistant), alongside an XC 50-230 mm that I already have (when the weather is good and I want more zoom).

The 18-300 has my preference with regards to zoom, but the 18-135 might be the wiser option with regards to IQ?

I am not someone who pixel-peeps, but there should be some basic and acceptable IQ ("good enough" will do for me).

The camera is an X-T2 and I will also bring an XF 10-24 mm.

Fujifilm X-T2
