Interesting. I have used the EF-S 18-135 NanoUSM for video and did not notice a AF issue but may have to try it again. I was videoing track events that were mostly at a distance and did not involve a lot of significant zoom in/out

tdbmd,

Try it at 135 and let me know what you find. Flip over to Movie mode, and allow it to focus on something up close, and then lift your camera to something far away.

I'd be interested in knowing what you experience. I tried my 55-250mm at 135 and no joy. At 55mm, there's no problem.

I'd like to find out if it's my lens or not.

I was using the movie auto mode with the EF-S 17-55 on the T8i, I had used the 18-135 on the SL3 which is very similar video specs but now I am going to try both the 18-135 and the EF 70-300 on the T8i and report back.
