For my older generation Foveons that are supported by Lightroom (SD9, SD14, DP1), the colour passport also works with adobe's custom dng profile program. I've made quite an assortment of SD9, and SD14 LR profiles under different lighting to try and tame the colour of these old cameras. Sort of helps, but really not worth the effort these days.

Indeed, one can tire quite quickly of such endeavors. I once spent some days trying make a DCP for the SD9, using Adobe's system. But then, opening an X3F in Adobe Camera Raw back then still came up only with "embedded" in the Camera drop-down, no matter what profile folder I put my DCP in.

My computer is Adobe-free these days because Adobe sucks ...

A lot of talk about making profiles seems to ignore the fact that one has to make a hundred or so to cover every lighting condition ... boring.

Not sure why your SD9 profiles didn't work, I did lots. None of them solved the problem I was trying to fix (excessive yellow casts in warm light) but they installed and worked like any other profile.  It was such a long time ago, I can't remember the installation steps but they still work just fine.

I don't like Adobe's business approach which is why I have gone open source with darktable, but I'm keeping my perpetual licence version 6 for my back catalogue. As much as I might regret their shift to a subsctription models and want no part of it and much as I dislike photoshop, Lightroom remains a fine product .
