Regrettably, the simple advantage of the Foveon (no color moiré) has long gone.

Maybe this is why the fp L sensor has a light AA filter on top.

Not only this, as the megapixel count goes up, the microcontrast required of a lens to bring out color moire goes way up.  It's a different environment where diffraction is doing the work.  Low megapixel sensors have the color moire problem in spades.

So I took my fp L image and followed the process in the link in the OP, and did not see any color moire in it.  Well, maybe a tiny bit in sunlight reflected from water droplets, but not much.

Nice thing about the process is that the need for sharpening is much reduced, and this is quite similar to Foveon images.
