This is what I'd do: Used Fujifilm GFX-50R with a 50mm 3.5
You've already said your current set up covers 99% of your needs. Why buy more gear?
You re right! It doesn't have to be photography gears. It can be any other toys indeed. The reason of asking for gear advice /ideas is because one of my top ideas is to upgrade or get some gears I always want with the budget. And since this is a gear forum, I try to be relevant here.
My second idea is actually to buy a nice entry level "luxury" watch.
So, no to my suggestion of a GFX50R? This will actually give you something different. Forget the watch…
I too would second the idea of a less frequently used but different setup such as the GFX, versus a watch because a Timex will do the same thing for pocket change, comparatively. However at this point, I suspect it's not about accurate indication of time.
The thing with a lower end luxury watch is it isn’t going to be enough… and that is an expensive rabbit hole to go down. I’d avoid that by all means.
This is so true. I actually want an entry ‘luxury” level automatic watch as a tool watch as I don’t see too much of use of the advanced functions of the Apple Watch ( mine is the original series) which stopped working recently.
I have other watches for occasions but don’t have a good one for daily use. One of the reasons of going for an entry luxury watch is because most of these watches will still have some decent value left if I decide to sell it later. I try not to buy “expensive items” without good residual value after being used for some years or won’t last.
I think the Tudor black bay, black bay GMT Pepsi bezel, Tudor Pelagos, omega seamaster are some very good choices for the budget.
I want the Omega Spymaster that I saw in an Archer episode.. with garotte and poison gas launcher! (Yes, I know it's not a real thing).
