I can’t speak to the RP, but the R is excellent for moving targets. It’s better than the 7DII that I had for 6 years, which was specifically designed for sports. I haven’t tried it for BIF, which isn’t a subject I often try anyway, but for fast moving people, it’s great. Just because the R5 is better (and the R3 better still), some people seem to think the R is no good, which is nonsense.

Whether 5fps is ‘abysmal’ depends on what you’re shooting, and what you want. I would prefer the option of a little more, but for most things I shoot, 5fps is enough. I found the top speed of 10fps on my 7DII faster than I needed for almost everything (the exception being long jump), and usually dialed down the speed (I loved the ability to set any framerate I wanted). I use 7fps on my M6II much more than 14fps. For most subjects most of the time really high burst rates gives you a lot more work culling shots, and no better end results. There may be a few exceptions for professionals, and of course some people just want those really high burst rates, but to label 5fps ‘abysmal’, because you’re one of those who wants more and more is a typical example of forum hyperbole.

The R6 has adequate AF

No, the R6 has amazingly good AF.

and burst rate but its 20mp sensor means you will need longer, heavier, more expensive zoom lenses to get the reach you will need for a full frame camera. APS-C's 1.6x crop factor and pixel density would much better suit your needs and I expect Canon's first R system APS-C camera be basically be a R6 with an APS-C sensor and a lower price.
