If I were you, and based on what you like to photograph, I recommend waiting a little while longer to see if Canon releases a RF mount APS-C camera. The RP and R are not good for moving targets and especially BIF. Their AF systems aren't up to the task and their burst rate is abysmal. The R6 has adequate AF and burst rate but its 20mp sensor means you will need longer, heavier, more expensive zoom lenses to get the reach you will need for a full frame camera. APS-C's 1.6x crop factor and pixel density would much better suit your needs and I expect Canon's first R system APS-C camera be basically be a R6 with an APS-C sensor and a lower price.
I don't disagree with this. I don't mind waiting a bit (couple of months? summer?) but I don't want to wait till next year. I think if it comes down to that I'd rather get something now with the RF lenses and upgrade the body later.
For what you shoot, having an APS-C camera makes the most sense. Even if you have to switch brands to get one. APS-C cameras are a much better fit for what I shoot these days. They are excellent for shooting BIF, moving targets etc. I really want Canon to offer APS-C in the R system and I am pretty confident they will. I plan to wait out this year and if they don't have APS-C by then I will very likely be moving to Fuji. At that point I probably won't be buying any more Canon gear and make due with the FF Canon gear I currently have going forward.
Since you have been using the SX50 and enjoy its size, weight and range, there is a very good chance you will find FF cameras and telephoto lenses to big and heavy to carry around. Not to mention the cost of good long reach telephoto zoom lenses. Especially if you plan to get anywhere near the optical reach of your SX50. The single purpose lenses like the RF 600/800mm primes with a fixed f/11 aperture are not ones I would care to own. The RF 100-400mm is a lens begging for an APS-C camera.
