But i fail to see any advantages of variable apertures, because DoF is already large at the wide aperture (24mmf7 hyperfocal distance is 2.8m) and desirable effects of smaller apertures in a full frame lens for example (sharper, less abberations, sunstars) are not present or get lost because of diffraction @f14 equiv.
