Question about Bit Depth and Colour Space
Question about Bit Depth and Colour Space
Feb 12, 2022
Hi!
I upload videos to YouTube a lot and currently I am recording in a 8 Bit Depth. However I was considering starting to record in either 10 bit or 12 bit and weather it is worth it considering it will only ever be seen on YouTube?
I understand that 10 bit or 12 bit can get you better results in terms of colour shades and dynamic range but does it also increase they colour space it can record in (As in you would be able to record not just in more shades of colour but with 'new' colours, in the same way that rec 709 has a different range of colours compared to a different colour space)?
sorry if that doesn't make sense haha
