That's because you probably take photographs of animals. If you took photos of people or places, you wouldn't find this complaint as silly.

I take photos of people and don't take photos of animals (except for the occasional stuffed animal). As it turns out, I live in the normal-to-portrait-telephoto range when it comes to focal lengths: My "core" range is 24-70mm (on DX, not "FX equivalent") with essentially nothing wider than 24mm and a relatively fat tail longer than 70mm. So the 24-120mm f/4 suits me great as my main zoom lens.

I can't say "personally, I don't want any DX lenses" but I can say I only want two DX lenses: The 35mm DX prime (which I already have) and a 24mm DX prime (which I've given up on Nikon ever making).
