I can't answer your questions about the WIFI etc. But maybe I can offer you some tips or suggestions for street photography.
I have an older Canon T3i (600D) camera that I haven't used for a long time. Now, I'm using Canon T7i (800D) or Canon M50 cameras for street photography. I often pull out the LCD screen and twist it, so that I can take the pictures that way at short focal lengths without pointing the camera directly at people at eye-level. I can also use a telephoto lens if there is a good background, so that confrontations are also avoided that way. I don't know if you can use the Canon T3i (600D) with the LCD screen as I can with the Canon T7i (800D) camera. Again, it's been a long time...I can't remember.
I have a Rebel t3i/600d.
The articulating screen is the same as the 800d (apart from it's not touch-sensitive).
My suggestion with street photography, is to go with someone else that also understands the laws of what is legal and acceptable or not. When I go by myself I have found myself hassled sometimes (very rarely but it happens) but when I go with someone else, they are less likely to bully me for taking photos in a public place (almost never). It's just something that I have noticed over the years that when we are alone we are a target. So you may want to go out with your wife on those occasions for street photography. Yes, we want to be safe and not worry about someone damaging our cameras etc.
Oh, also...congratulations on getting a camera and lens set for such a low price. I'm sure you'll enjoy them.
