The great thing about Fuji jpg/raw is that you can have it both ways. If you know what you are trying to achieve, and set your white balance, film simulation, exposure, tonal and colour adjustments, sharpening, clarity, colour chrome effects, sharpening, and other adjustments to exactly what you want, it I can be very difficult to beat the jpg. The film simulations and latitude to make a priori adjustments to the jpg files are arguably better than anything from Sony, Nikon, or Canon.

Raw is the way to go if you have a lot of contrast or dynamic range that you want to control, want to make use of a special effects like graduated filters, make fine micro-contrast adjustments, need a really sharp image, or have to deal with a noisy image.
