Okay, I'll explain. With the prime you have an integrated hood you cannot unscrew, so in extended position it rotates all the way.

Especially with concert photography, low light conditions, holding your hood not only stabilizes the camera quite well, but if you hold the hood in position and rotate the body with hand on the grip and shutter you can really quickly rotate your camera for a quick different orientation, or if your subject moves. Speed is essential here because subjects and lighting conditions change fast.

Imagine yourself in the crowd, row 10 or so, trying to change from landscape to portrait orientation quickly on a monopod won't work. And trying the same trick with a lens with removable hood will likely detach it.
