I ordered a used EVF-DC1 off Adorama for $109 which should arrive today or tomorrow... for astrophotography I use the EVF for critical/fine focus, and having one that can tilt up 90 degrees is going to save a lot of trouble, especially when the camera is mounted on a telescope or pointed near the zenith of the sky!

I have both the DC1 and DC2 and much prefer the DC1. Not only is the flip-up mechanism useful, but the image I get on the DC1 looks exactly like the image on the camera's display, whereas the DC2 produces a darker, higher contrast image that does not match. I've tried out two brand new DC2s and they were identical. And I've put the DC1 on one M6ii and the DC2 on another M6ii and tested them side by side. I'm surprised it's considered an upgrade over the DC1.

Another vote for the DC1. I mostly use the rear screen angled slightly up, and hold the camera about shoulder high, elbows straight down at my sides, which I find very stable.

When I do need to use the EVF, I like that the DC1 lets me shoot from the same position.

Could the edge connector in the hot shoe be used for anything else? Like an external monitor?
