It seems there are a few experiencing lockups, so is it worth those that have reveal the memory cards they were using when the lockups happened? Perhaps making a new post, where those that have had lockups listing the memory cards in use at the time.
Hi Phil,
Zero lockups with f/w 1.5 (3,000 plus shots) lenses - RF 24-105 f/4 L, RF 70-200 f/2.8 L, EF 100-400 II L (Control Ring EF-RF Adapter), Sandisk Extreme PRO 300 SD, Integral CFexpress, Canon EP-6N/ EP6NH Batteries. AF very responsive and very sticky - a real pleasure to use.
Maybe I’m just lucky? 🤷🏻♂️
Phil
Likewise no lockups, EF 24-70 f2.8 MkII, EF 16-35 f2.8 MKIII both used with the Canon adapter. RF 100-500, RF 600 f11, Canon EP6NH and Rav Power EP6N equivalent. Sony Tough CFEXPRESS 256Gb and Kingston Canvas React+ 256Gb V90 SD. Love it to bits 😬
Thinking about other things I do/ don't do - I shoot using the front shutter button (not BBF), I very rarely use Electronic Shutter, so usually either Mechanical or EFCS, I very rarely use H+, so generally use either High/ Low-speed continuous, or the Self-timer. I shoot full raw.
My standard set-up at present (subject to 'as required' live tweaking) is:
Manual Mode, Auto ISO (occasionally user defined), Expand AF area, Servo or One-Shot AF, Evaluative, Low-speed continuous shooting. (General walk-around for shooting 'stuff').
C1 Manual Mode, Auto ISO (occasionally user defined), 'L'+Tracking Animal detect with Eye-AF Enabled, Servo AF, Partial, High-speed shooting (occasionally switch to H+).
C2 Manual Mode, Auto ISO (occasionally user defined), 'L'+Tracking Human detect with Eye-AF Enabled, SERVO or One-Shot AF, Partial (alt. Evaluative), Low-speed shooting.
C3 Tv Mode, Expand AF area (Alt. 1-point), One-Shot AF, Evaluative (alt. Partial), Self-timer.
I have M-Fn set to 'Switch to Custom Mode' so I can cycle between Current Mode-C1-C2-C3.
[SET]: 'Dial Function' (EC, Drive, ISO, Metering), [AF-ON]: 'Centre F. Point', Lens/ Ad Ring: 'EC'.
All modes have Continuous Focus Disabled and 'Lens drive when AF impossible' set to 'ON'.
I usually have the screen parked/ reversed when shooting (unless shooting at odd angles).
Firmware 1.5.
I'm not sure that takes things any further, but there you go - zero lock-ups with this set-up.
(So far... )
Phil
