I own several Len(s) - I would suggest the 70-1000 lens to go on your T3i (I bought the T3i for my son many moons ago and he prefers to use the SD880.
and while you are at it - go for a nifty 50 mm - and remember to buy a quality filter to protect your T3i.
You can also go to your local camera shop / staples/ Best Buy to see what you need too.
