Use the lens cap to help unscrew the decorative ring from the front of the lens. It is an anti-clockwise action. This will expose the thread on the end of the lens, then screw the lens hood on.

Enjoy your lovely camera and may I suggest a screen protector? I use the superb Brotect Anti-Glare 9H Glass Screen Protectors available from Amazon. You do not see it once on.
