Re: problems I see

Hmmmmm. Maybe I will have to go snorkeling with an old pot and see how it goes. I didn’t really know that someone would consider it infeasible, and would have thought divers swam around with their gear under water too.

Here's a shot my wife took of me in 2015 when I was diving with the RX100 rig.  Yes, we 'swim around', if by swim you mean not using your arms at all.  But with strobes sticking out, you definitely swim slower.  It makes a clear difference to turn the rig sideways like I'm doing in the shot.  If I'm really trying to move through current or speed up, I tuck one arm between my legs to minimize the profile.

You can't really do that with a big dome so much.  And sorry to say, but I don't think you'll ever get results from a 6 inch that you'll be happy with the corners.

Now that's a pretty small rig, and I've taken the stuff off it and just used it with the wrist strap for snorkeling.  And I normally didn't have weights because snorkeling wasn't really planned out  - cruise ship, other situations.  (Driving along shore in Hawaii on vacation.)

In 2016 I went to the D810, and I've never snorkeled with it.
